About

Nan Ellen

Nan Ellen is a leadership expert, educator, and consultant whose life’s work is devoted to developing leaders who lead with authenticity, courage, character, and purpose. Her work is rooted in a conviction that leadership is not only about what we do—it is about who we become and the difference we choose to make in the lives of others. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, cum laude, with a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development and a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness, Nan Ellen earned an Executive Master’s in Leadership from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Her leadership journey has taken her from the Middle East, where she empowered women leaders and fostered interfaith dialogue, to Macedonia and Croatia, where she was invited to equip emerging leaders across the Balkan region. A former White House appointee to the Peace Corps headquarters in Washington, D.C., Nan Ellen also served for 10 years on the faculty of Georgetown University as an adjunct professor of leadership. Grounded in a deep and ongoing study of leadership, and shaped by years of leading, guiding, serving, and developing others, she has had the privilege of working alongside and learning from leaders who have dedicated their lives to advancing positive change in the world. From this depth of experience, Nan Ellen created her own leadership curriculum and founded a leadership consulting firm committed to cultivating the potential within people across generations, backgrounds, and walks of life—bringing their authentic leadership to life and igniting the courage to lead with character, service, and collaboration. For Nan Ellen, leadership development is far more than a seminar. It is meaningful work—an opportunity to fan the flame of what is best within us and unleash that power as a force for good that impacts lives and changes the world. Her vision for leadership transcends leadership itself: to inspire leaders to awaken their authentic voice, lead with purpose and courage, and become the difference they wish to see in the world—Making Goodness Fashionable.

And Now, the Journey Is Yours

The World Is Calling for Leaders Like You

Become the Leader the World Is Ready For

Leadership is an opportunity to make a difference—not only in how we live and treat one another, but in what we can make possible together. Leadership was never meant to be a path taken alone. We live more fully when we come together, listen to one another, draw on each other’s talents, and unite around something greater than ourselves. When we choose to lead differently, together, we create meaningful change. So, what does it look like to step into that kind of leadership? Start a conversation. Embark on what’s next. Fan the flame of Goodness within you. Unleash your potential as a force for good—one that enriches lives, uplifts communities, and shapes a better future.

This is the leadership that rises beyond leadership itself: awakening your authentic voice, leading with purpose and courage, and becoming the difference you wish to see in the world.

As we embody this kind of leadership, we begin to see one another—and our shared world—from a fresh perspective. From space, astronauts look back at Earth and see one beautiful, colorful, alive planet—their home planet. From that vantage point, the borders, divisions, and differences that can divide us lose their power, revealing a deeper truth: we belong to one family of nations, and we are all in this together. That recognition invites us to look beyond ourselves. Who in your community or around you might you reach out to—someone whose story, culture, or circumstances differ from your own—to listen, connect, serve, and learn together? Because the world we build begins when we choose connection over division, understanding through openness, and service over self. You are called to be part of something bigger than yourself. The future we share will be defined by the leaders we choose to become today. We need leaders who seek to transcend the borders that keep us apart, who lead with kindness and respect, who treat others the way they want to be treated, and who recognize that, despite our differences, we belong to one human family, one world, and one future. This is more than leadership. It is a decision about who we will be, how we will live, and the world we will build together.

The world is calling.

The question is: Will you answer?
